We developed the tone of voice and messaging for National Theatre At Home: a whole new way to experience great theatre – from anywhere.
During the first UK lockdown, our clients at the National Theatre had the inspired idea of offering NTLive filmed productions free on YouTube.
The response amazed them. The shows reached nine million households in 173 countries, with around 20 million views. The NT’s YouTube channel subscribers grew over 800%.
With demand for this medium so clearly demonstrated, the National theatre set about building a permanent platform for streaming filmed productions.
And in December 2020, it launched – to a roar of delighted applause from the internet.
