Never Too Young

A voice with more guts than most

You’re never too young to know your shit. We created a new voice for Never Too Young to spread the word about bowel cancer.

Bowel cancer? We get it

Cancer is hard enough to navigate. Even worse when support is aimed at the over 50s. You’re never too young to get bowel cancer, so Never Too Young (NTY) is a grassroots support group for anyone who finds out the hard way.

Go with your gut

Our friends at Taxi Studio created a bold visual identity, with a distinctive bowel font at the centre. Next they needed a way of communicating – one that would cut a contrast to the clinical language around cancer.

For NTY, no topic is off the cards. So we gave them a frank, feelings-first voice that could create a sense of community and carry intimate topics. Everything from sex and stomas, to symptom spotting.

A candid community

Our copy’s already coming to life on everything from t-shirts to toilet roll. And the new brand is grabbing awareness for the group – building their community and helping more young people with bowel cancer find the support they need.

Reed Words handled this extremely challenging subject with great care and incredible passion – delivering a verbal identity for Never Too Young that perfectly strikes a balance between assertive and supportive, and with a sympathetic amount of humour and humility too.
